Things are never what they seem

With banks crashing all around us, and financial institutions running for the exits all over the world - the market for consulting acquisitions and mergers seems to be heating up.

Tata Consultancy Services has paid $505 million in cash for Citi Group's Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) arm. Catapulting them to be the second largest BPO company in the world.

Today, Oracle announced their own intention to acquire the project management software company Primavera  for an undisclosed sum. I am a really big fan of Primavera software and it is a global player without equal in their chosen area. (According to my own observations anyway)

Sogeti, a leading global provider of Local IT, Professional and Test services, today announced the acquisition of the UK test consultancy Vizuri Limited, helping it to establish itself as a major player in the UK Testing Services Market.

The fall of the financial sectors (and let's not kid ourselves, this really is big) it is a cheap time for companies who have cash to move on some of the deal sin the market. A great vote of confidence!
