Overview of the principles of Trust Based Marketing

Since opening my own consultancy, after several years doing other stuff for a while, I have been frenetically applying the principles of Trust Based Marketing, and of course - it has been very successful to date.

There is something about developing trust based assets that really appeals to me, that is - you can't wing it. There is no faking it, no false sincerity, and no shortcuts - at all!

People either trust you or they do not. That's all there is to it.

They trust that you are an honest and honorable person, and that you can deliver what it says on the tin; or they do not. No middle of the road and no faking it.

As a way to clear the cobwebs in my own head, I wanted to republish some of the principles of Trust Based Marketing as I wrote them several years ago. Now crash tested not only in my career, but with my own company.

I sincerely believe that trust based marketing is probably the only powerful means of reaching clients in todays market. And that this is only going to increase as time goes on.

Principles of Trust Based Marketing

1) They don't need to like you, this is not about sycophants, it is about trust.

2) There are two elements to trust. Your character, and your abilities. This cannot work if either of these is absent.
