Al Ries is a guy whose work just screams experience, knowledge and the unconventional wisdom gained years in the front lines of marketing, branding and messaging. I recently read through his book, The 22 Immutable Laws of Marketing, in one sitting and found it to be brimming with sound, practical tips - as well as irrefutable logic.
But it did start me thinking. On page 88 he talks about the law of candour, telling the truth and being frank about negatives of your product or service. Good advice, dishonesty is never a good policy. But isn't there a bit of dishonesty in our words and actions every day?
I recently came across a few videos on Google Video that dig a little into day to day actions and activities to expose some of the basic truths there. There is a bit of bad language here, but in general these are hilarious depictions of day-to-day life in the corporate world.
